Description
3-Blade Arc PDC Drill Bit for Efficient Non-Coring Drilling
The 3-Blade Arc PDC Drill Bit combines a curved three-blade profile with wear-resistant PDC cutters to provide stable cutting engagement, efficient penetration and effective cuttings removal.
It is designed for non-coring drilling in water well, geothermal, grouting, anchor and mining applications. Compared with conventional carbide drag bits, the PDC cutting structure provides higher wear resistance and more consistent cutting performance in suitable soft to medium-hard and moderately fractured formations.

Stable cutting engagement and efficient penetration
Six design advantages behind the 3-Blade Arc PDC Drill Bit.
01 / 06 Three-Blade Arc Cutting StructureThe three-blade curved profile provides balanced cutter engagement and stable drilling performance while maintaining an open structure for efficient cuttings evacuation. | 02 / 06 High-Performance PDC CuttersDifferent PDC cutter specifications, including 1308, 1304, 1305 and 1613, can be selected according to rock hardness, abrasiveness and drilling requirements. | 03 / 06 Efficient PenetrationPDC cutters remove formation mainly through shearing action, helping achieve efficient penetration in suitable soft to medium-hard formations. |
04 / 06 Optimized FlushingWide waterways and optional nozzle configurations help clean the bottom of the borehole, cool the cutters and reduce repeated crushing of drill cuttings. | 05 / 06 Steel Body ConstructionA robust steel body provides structural support for the cutters and can be reinforced in high-wear areas when required. | 06 / 06 Custom ManufacturingBit diameter, blade geometry, cutter quantity, cutter exposure, thread connection and flushing design can all be customized. |
Used across water well, geothermal, grouting and mining drilling
The 3-Blade Arc PDC Drill Bit is suitable for a wide range of non-coring drilling projects, including water well drilling, geothermal drilling, grouting holes, anchor drilling, slope support, foundation drilling, coal mine drainage holes, gas drainage holes and mining and engineering boreholes.
01 Water Well DrillingEfficient non-coring drilling for water well projects in soft to medium-hard formations. | 02 Geothermal DrillingStable cutting performance for geothermal boreholes and related drilling projects. |
03 Grouting & Anchor DrillingSuitable for grouting holes, anchor drilling, slope support and foundation drilling. | 04 Mining & Engineering BoreholesReliable drilling for coal mine drainage holes, gas drainage holes and mining boreholes. |
Suitable Rock Formations
⚠️ Note: The final cutter layout and bit configuration should be selected according to formation hardness, abrasiveness, fracture conditions and drilling parameters. |
Three-blade arc cutting structure with PDC cutters
The performance of a PDC drill bit depends not only on cutter quality, but also on cutter size, quantity, position, exposure and rake angle. The 3-Blade Arc design provides a useful balance between cutting aggressiveness, stability and open flow area.
PDC Cutter Sizes 1308 / 1305 / 1304 suitable for different general engineering and formation-specific configurations. 1613 available where a larger cutting element or stronger cutting structure is required. | Cutter Layout Quantity, position and exposure can be adjusted according to rock hardness, abrasiveness, borehole diameter, required penetration rate, rotary speed, weight on bit, drilling depth and rig power. | Blade Structure Standard or reinforced blade configurations. The open three-blade structure provides larger spaces between blades for cuttings evacuation. |
Gauge Protection Additional wear protection can be added where required to maintain borehole diameter and extend bit life. | Steel Body A robust steel body provides structural support for the cutters and can be reinforced in high-wear areas when required. | Custom Tooth Design Blade geometry, cutter quantity, cutter exposure and flushing design can be customized for specific formations. |
Optimized waterways for efficient bottom-hole cleaning
Efficient bottom-hole cleaning is important for maintaining PDC drilling performance. The 3-Blade Arc PDC Drill Bit can be manufactured with optimized waterways and nozzle arrangements to remove rock cuttings, clean the PDC cutters, reduce secondary crushing, assist cutter cooling and maintain penetration efficiency.
Wide Waterways Open flow area helps evacuate cuttings efficiently and reduces repeated crushing. | Optional Nozzles Nozzle arrangements can be adjusted according to bit diameter, drilling fluid and project requirements. | Cutter Cooling Effective flushing helps cool the PDC cutters and maintain cutting efficiency. |
Cutter size, layout and exposure matched to formation
Rather than using the same cutter layout for every project, the bit can be configured according to the actual formation. Different cutter configurations can be selected according to rock hardness, formation abrasiveness, borehole diameter, required penetration rate, rotary speed, weight on bit, drilling depth and rig power.
| Cutter Size | Typical Application | Configuration Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1308 | General engineering drilling, soft to medium-hard formations | Flexible cutter layout; balanced penetration and durability |
| 1305 | Formation-specific configurations | Can be selected according to abrasiveness and required ROP |
| 1304 | Formation-specific configurations | Suitable where different cutting characteristics are required |
| 1613 | Larger cutting element or stronger cutting structure required | Available for selected configurations; larger cutter size may affect layout and hydraulic design |
Balance between cutting aggressiveness, stability and open flow area
The three-blade arc structure provides a useful balance between cutting aggressiveness, stability and open flow area. Compared with designs using more blades, the open three-blade structure provides larger spaces between blades for cuttings evacuation.
Fast Penetration Fast PenetrationIn suitable formations, the arc profile and PDC cutters can help achieve efficient penetration. | Stable Drilling Stable DrillingBalanced cutter engagement provides stable drilling performance and reduces vibration. | Efficient Cuttings Removal Efficient Cuttings RemovalThe open three-blade structure provides large spaces for cuttings evacuation and helps avoid balling. |
