Pneumatic Down-the-Hole Hammer (2–24 Inch)

DTH Hammer is a pneumatic percussion drilling tool that transfers impact energy directly to the drill bit at the bottom of the borehole. This helps reduce energy loss, improve penetration efficiency and maintain straighter holes in rock drilling applications.

Our DTH hammer range covers approximately 2 to 24 inch, with multiple API REG thread connections and configurations available for water well, mining, quarrying, geothermal and large-diameter rock drilling.

Direct impact at the bottom of the hole

Six design advantages behind the pneumatic DTH hammer series.

Why DTH drilling is efficient

Compressed air drives the internal piston, generating repeated impact directly behind the DTH drill bit. Because the hammer operates at the bottom of the borehole, impact energy is delivered close to the rock face rather than being transmitted through the entire drill string.

Used across water well, mining and large-diameter drilling

DTH hammers are widely used for water well drilling, geothermal drilling, mining drilling, quarry drilling and blast hole drilling. Other applications include foundation drilling, construction drilling, deep-hole drilling and large-diameter rock drilling.

Standard models from 2 inch to 24 inch

Standard connections are listed for reference. Custom connections and configurations are available on request.

Multiple API REG thread connections available

Different API REG thread connections are available according to hammer size and drilling equipment. The connection standard must match the hammer size and the drill pipe in use.

Performance depends on compressor matching

DTH hammer performance is strongly affected by the compressor and the drilling conditions. Higher pressure generally helps improve penetration rate, while sufficient free air volume is important for flushing cuttings out of the hole. Insufficient flushing can cause cuttings to be re-crushed, which reduces efficiency.

Matched components for reliable drilling

A complete DTH drilling system includes several matched components working together. Hammer, bit, drill pipe, rig and compressor must be matched for efficient drilling performance.

Small to large diameter DTH solutions

Large DTH hammers are available for applications requiring larger boreholes. The 10–24 inch range covers a wide working diameter span for large-scale rock drilling projects.
